Please describe how your company managed daily workflow and media sharing needs prior to using Simian.
Before switching to Simian, we managed our website reels and sent requested director's reels through a service called, Getareel. In addition, we mailed reels on DVD to potential clients. All of our media was on a hard drive and we never presented online.

In late 2012, Max Films started to look at alternatives to Getareel. We felt that the analytics on our sent show reels were not as detailed as they could be. We wanted to be able to send director reels to agencies and track them. We also wanted to be able to see what the client had viewed, whom they had forwarded to, etc. when director treatments and jobs were sent. Simian was able to provide all that we needed.

Simian provides everything we need in one place. We have a single location where all our director reels live, where they can be easily edited, quickly sent out to clients and tracked with ease. With Simian, we can manage director reel content on our website quickly and easily. We can also upload PPM booklets to share with the agency ahead of meetings, which is something that was impossible before. Plus, when we have a job in production, we can share job files with the agency and client quickly and easily, making the overall production more efficient.
Please describe in detail, the overall benefit that was achieved as a result of using Simian. This can include additional revenue or products related to a specific job or project.
One benefit is having one place where all our director’s reels are stored and can be edited, shared and tracked, quickly and easily. Another benefit is being able to share job files with clients. We can now have a PPM remotely if necessary. With the booklet uploaded to Simian, everyone sent the link can be looking at the PPM booklet online at the same time.
Simian has become an indispensable tool that we use and depend on daily. Having one place where all our director’s reels and job files are kept and managed helps us increase our productivity and keeps us competitive in this ever-changing, fast-paced industry.
